MarksNelson LLC accounting and consulting firm is pleased to announce a new contract with the city of Monett, Missouri. The firm’s location strategy team will provide consulting services for projects involving the retention and expansion of existing employers in the city.
“A community’s ability to respond quickly and effectively can significantly impact the trajectory of its local economy,” said Josh Beck EDFP, a partner at MarksNelson. “Monett’s selection of MarksNelson provides them with the support of professionals in areas like real estate, economic and community development, and public incentives to assist during these important projects.”
The year-long contract places Beck and MarksNelson manager Steve Etcher on retainer. Both joined the firm in July of 2015 after a merger with their previous company, Community Edge LLC. Beck and Etcher will work with Monett to develop an action plan, structure incentive offerings, and coordinate with state and federal agencies along with real estate owners and developers, to support the expansion of existing employers in the community.
Josh Beck has worked on location strategy initiatives with companies ranging from start-up to Fortune 100, helped real estate developers identify and structure profitable projects, and guided communities throughout the U.S. to develop and implement effective economic development strategies. He’s currently on the Board of Directors of CoreNet Global - Kansas City Chapter, and previously served on the Board of Directors for the Missouri Economic Development Council.
Steve Etcher has more than 25 years’ experience in economic development. A recognized leader in the community, Steve has been called on to testify before the United States House of Representatives, Missouri General Assembly, and to speak at the White House office of Intergovernmental Affairs. Previously, he served as president of the Missouri Association of Councils of Government and is a former Board of Director for the National Association of Development Organizations.
